The big appointment!

Well, today was the big day. We got to take another peak at Baby Taron #2 and see exactly what we had cooking in there:) We were both very nervous for this appointment. It seemed like there was a lot riding on it. We were going to get results on a 12 hour urine test I had to take to measure my kidney functioning and protein levels, check my blood presure (which is always an adventure), get the 2nd round of the integrated screen (to rule out any genetic disorders), get the growth and anatomy ultrasound which is an hour and half long appointment, see that the baby is growing and measuring the way it should, AND find out the gender of baby #2. So, as you can imagine, tension was high and we were both ready to have this appointment over and done with!

The ultrasound started off well. We could see the heart beating right away, which is always a sigh of relief:) Hailey was with us too, which made it really special. She did awesome throughout the whole afternoon! We told the radiologist that we wanted to find out what the gender was, so tell us as soon as she saw anything. It didn't take long before she said, "well, I guess that gives us our answer!" Derek and I both said, "what? What do you see?!" And she said, "you are obviously having a boy!" I think the whole clinic heard Derek jump out of his seat and scream "YES!!!!" at the top of his lungs. For the rest of the hour, we got to see our baby boy bounce around and be difficult for the radiologist and ultrasound tech get pictures of him. He's very active and doesn't like to cooperate :) He is measuring right on track... big head and all!

After the ultrasound, we had our doctors visit. Technically, during the ultrasound, they aren't allowed to say anything in regards to how the baby is looking, so we were anxious to talk with the doctor to hear the results, and also find out about the other tests. The doctor was VERY excited and said the baby looked perfect! She said that I have 0% protein in my urine (which is awesome!) and that my blood pressure was perfect. Once we talked to the doctor, I was officially EXCITED :)

We will get the results of our integrated screening by the end of the week. So we are just praying that everything continues to go well and the results of that test are good.

All-in-all today was a dream come true. We could ask for much more at this point in time! We are both so excited to have not only a baby boy on the way and to have a child of each gender, but to see that it is looking healthy and growing the way it should!

Here is a profile picture of our little guy (we only got one picture cause the machine ran out of paper:( )
