My Uncle Mike has been with the Seattle Police Department for 20+ years now.  A couple years ago he was promoted to Sargent.  The police department finally got around to throwing a promotional ceremony for all the officers who were promoted in the last 2 years.  I was so glad I could skip out of work and be there to see Uncle Mike receive the recognition he deserves.  I am so proud of him!  I'm one lucky niece!

Derek had yet another birthday ;)  We celebrated just like we always do... with food!  Dinner on Sunday at his parents, which included the biggest lamb chop I've ever seen... seriously, this biggest.  On his actual birthday, the kids and I brought the birthday boy lunch at work.  For dinner the restaurant of choice was Buffalo Wild Wings...mmmm mmm.  Oh, and of course there was LOTS of cake, duh!

We took advantage of our dear friends being in town and used Derek's birthday as an excuse to have a little gathering.  The best part.... the 2 new babies!  There's not much better then having 2 babies under 2 month old hanging around for a little bit.  I cant wait to watch Harlyn and Tatum grow!!!!

Madison turns 4!

Our good friends daughter, Madison turned 4 earlier this month.  She had her party at this awesome new place in town, Elevated Sports.  The main attraction there is  the wall-to-wall trampolines.  Thankfully, Madison's parents opted to do the part in the 6,300 square foot play structure there instead.  I'm 99% sure Cooper would kill himself on the trampolines.... he has no respect for the laws of gravity, haha.

Sadly, I only got pictures of the kiddos playing in the ball pit.  It's right in front of where you can stand and watch all the action.  Remember, the play area is 6,300 sq ft.... there was no taking picture while trying to sqeeze myself through rubber rollers ;)

2012 In Review

I'm just gonna go ahead and state the obvious - I stink at this whole blog thing.  I mean I'm posting my "year in review" post how many days into the new year for goodness sake?!

I've been feeling overwhelmed with how in the world I was going to EVER get caught up on the blog.  I figured this was the best way..... we'll see how it goes ;)

Here are some highlights from 2012 for the Taron family:

January:

We had LOTS of snow!

Derek had yet another birthday (and I discovered Pinterest)

Went up to Snoqualmie Pass with the McNeley Fam for some tubing fun!

Coop got his first haircut

GG-Ma, Hailey, Great Aunt Karen and I all got fancy to go see the Fancy Nancy ballet

Hailey went on a field trip to the Museum of Flight with Pre-school

Hailey and Daddy made her rocketship for her class project.  Naturally, it had to be pink ;)

We discovered Gymagine!  So fun!

We dyed eggs with Kool-aide for the first time (did I mention my obsession with Pinterest?)

We had another fun Easter at the Boyce's house!

Hailey and I did the MS Walk with her friend Madison

The kids and I went up to the Tulip Festival in Mount Vernon with Papa Keith and Michele... the kids didn't want to take pictures.  Apparently, they missed the whole point of this trip.... to TAKE PICTURES! :)

Hailey and Daddy hauled off our old couches... WOO HOO!!!!

My baby girl and I went to get our toes done together for the first time.... swoon

We went and saw Sesame Street Live.  Cooper was in heaven... Hailey was not, haha

Derek kicked our butt.....

We took our annual camping trip to Winthrop... love this weekend!

 

WE MOVED!!!!!  The kids (and dog) got the whole summer to enjoy the new backyard and deck... love.

We hosted our first 4th of July.... luckily everyone survived...

Hailey went to Princess Camp (AKA, little girls heaven)

 We spend a week down at the Tenmile Lake cabins... so nice!

Hailey lost her first tooth!

Hailey turned 5!!!  She requested to go to Point Defiance Zoo... again ;)

Then we celebrated with friends and family with a birthday party at Jump Planet!

Derek and I headed to the Gorge for the Dave Matthews concert :)

Hailey started Kindergarten!!!!!

 

Shannon and I did the 3-Day Walk for breast cancer!

We took our annual trip to The Farm for some good pumpkin fun!

 

Hailey's school had a Fall Festival :)

Hailey was Rapunzel and Cooper was... well, a Monster.  We just called him the "Coopy Monster" ;)

Hailey and I went to see Disney on Ice

Coop took swim lessons :)

We went to the annual Turkey Bowl... it was C.O.L.D!

 

 Coop had whipped cream for Thanksgiving, haha.

All-in-all 2012 was a good year!  It's amazing how fast a year can fly by when things go well.  After 2011, a good, smooth year was welcome!  I cant wait to see what 2013 has in store for us...
