Here are a TON of pictures from Cooper's arrival on December 1, 2010 at 9:45am. All-in-all, this was a very smooth labor and delivery for us. We checked in to the UW hospital around 4:00 on 11/30/10 to be induced. By 9:00 the process had been started. My pitosin was upped every 1/2 hour throughout the evening. By early morning I was in full labor. I asked to have my epidural just before 7:00am. My water broke about an hour later. Unfortunatly, my epidural did not take, so I was still in a good amount of pain. I went from 4cm dialated to 10cm within an hour and was ready to start pushing around 8:30. Unfortunatly, my doctor had a meeting, so we decided to wait and not start pushing until she got back. Pushing started around 9:30 and Cooper was born at exactly 9:45... yep, only pushed for 15 minutes... thankfully! This is a big difference from the 2 1/2 hours I pushed with Hailey! The nurse told me afterward that my total labor time was about 4 hours. Cooper weighed in at 6lbs 8.1oz and was 19 1/2 inches long. We were all shocked with how little he was since all the doctors kept telling us he was going to be a big boy! Even though he was smaller then we expected, he was still perfect and healthy:)
Thank you to everyone who came by the hospital to meet Cooper and welcome him to this crazy world of ours over his first couple of days of life!
